Mike is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Spacer Technologies and leads the Spacer
Australia, Spacer.com, Parkhound ; WhereiPark brands across Australia ; North America.
Born with an innate entrepreneurial spirit and a thirst for all things tech, Mike founded his first
business at the age of 14 by developing websites for SMEs in the mid-90’s.
Now with decades of hands-on experience building startups, Mike is a seasoned tech
entrepreneur with a proven track record of scaling high-growth tech companies. From
bootstrapping through to ASX listing and M&A activity, Mike has a deep understanding of the
startup ecosystem.
In 2004, Mike co-founded DealsDirect, where he played a pivotal role in revolutionising
Australia’s online retail landscape, scaling the pioneering online department store to become a
market leader with revenue ~$100m. He also was the brainchild and driving force behind
another game-changing startup, Auctionbrokers.
He was a non-exec board member & early investor of Car Next Door prior to its successful exit
to Uber in 2022, and currently a non-executive director of Zoom2u Limited (ASX: Z2U) and on
the board of FitMyCar. Additionally, he is angel investor and strategic advisor to high growth
technology companies in the ecommerce & marketplace sectors.
He also co-founded the Sharing Hub, an accelerator for the Sharing Economy in Australia.
And since founding Spacer Technologies in late 2015, Mike has been deeply immersed in the
sharing economy, steadfastly believing in its transformative potential to unlock underutilised
assets within local communities.
Leading a diverse team across multiple locations, and working in several markets, including US,
Australia, and Canada, Mike ensures that he deeply understands the nuances of each market.
His commitment to comprehending cultural differences, consumer behaviors, and industry
trends allows him to tailor strategies that resonate effectively in each region.
Mike also remains consistently updated on trends and insights within the sharing economy,
ensuring his leadership approach at Spacer Technologies is informed by the latest
developments.
Mike also enjoys mentoring other founders and sharing his experiences to help them navigate
the challenges of entrepreneurship, particularly in the sharing economy space.
